For the first time in Cyprus, South America’s biggest dance sensation—MALEVO—presents its dance and percussion show “FOREVER GAUCHO”!

 

The all-male dance troupe MALEVO was founded in 2015 by director, choreographer, and dancer Matías Jaime. The troupe consists of 16 top-tier artists in impeccable physical condition, possessing powerful masculine charisma and grace.

 

Their art is a complete reinterpretation of the traditional malambo dance, symbolizing a duel between gauchos (Argentine cowboys). Their unique style, which blends folklore, the lightning-fast zapateo footwork, and elements of passionate flamenco, has already set the hearts of audiences ablaze in Europe, North America, Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.

 

The MALEVO troupe has participated in landmark global cultural events, including the Royal Variety Performance (attended by members of the British royal family), a Cirque du Soleil charity gala, and various international festivals, and performs at the most prestigious venues around the world.

 

The dance troupe embodies Argentine culture and identity. In 2017, MALEVO was officially designated an Ambassador for the Argentina Brand (Marca País Argentina).

 

The FOREVER GAUCHO show is an explosive burst of adrenaline, immersing the audience in four powerful elements:

 

• Percussion—the magic of live rhythm. The primal beat of the massive bombo leguero drums. The performers work as a single living metronome; the audience feels this electrifying rhythm in their bones—it’s impossible to stay seated!
   

• A frenzied whirlwind of boleadoras. The traditional weapon of the Argentine gauchos (leather straps with heavy balls at the ends) is spun in the performers’ hands at tremendous speed. Flickering sparks and synchronized strikes transform this act into a fantastic extreme show.
   

• Malambo—phenomenal footwork. This is MALEVO’s signature act. The speed at which the dancers perform the tap dance (zapateo) borders on the physically impossible. The performers’ legs become a silhouette barely discernible to the eye, creating the most intricate rhythmic patterns.
   

• The southern passion of flamenco. The raw intensity of Malambo is softened by fluid, sensual elements, where proud posture, mesmerizing pauses, and expressive hand movements lend the show a refined aesthetic and theatrical drama.
